Please Meet Our Keep It Real Ministry Team
Every member of our church is important. We consider every saved member of our congregation a part of the ministry team. We all have a role to play in helping bring others to Christ.
None of the Love and Kindness Staff at this time are paid.
We do what we do because we love the Lord. Our ministry team leaders come from three counties: Roane, Calhoun & Jackson Counties. We have attendees coming from as far away as Parkersburg, West Virginia.Ministry Team Leaders:
Kathryn Truss is Director and Founder of Ministry for Love and Kindness Independent Church. Kathryn is the widow of the late Dr. Walter Truss who served as Pastor and Minister in numerous churches in several states. Walt was a renown singer. Kathryn has carried on Walt's legacy after his passing. Kathryn is Ordained and licensed through the State of West Virginia Secretary of State's Office. She followed her heart and started Love and Kindness Ministry which evolved into a church. Minister Kat as she is called, teaches the adult Sunday School Class, oversees the operations of the church and ministry outreach and rotates evening services with Minister Toby delivering sermons. Kathryn lives in Grantsville in Calhoun County.
Toby Wagoner is voluntary Lead Minister for Love and Kindness Independent Church. Toby has been with the Minister Kat in this role since opening the church in Ripley. In his role Toby preaches the morning sermon. Toby incorporates video into his sermons as illustrations and often teaches bible study. In addition to his appointed role, he oversees the marketing for the church and the REACT program. Toby is licensed and ordained with the State of West Virginia and often performs local weddings and is available for funerals. Toby, his wife Jen and five children live in Millwood, WV in Jackson County. Toby also preaches at nearby churches when needed.
Debbie Wagoner has served as Secretary / Treasurer for the church since opening in Ripley. She and her husband Rob have been faithful supporters of the church and are founding members of the church. Debbie oversees the Samaritan's Closet that provides free personal hygiene products monthly to those in need. She is also the Sunday School teacher for children age 5-11. She is Toby's mother, often referred to as Grandmaw Deb and she is a founding member of the church.
