2011 Labor Day Bass Tournament Winner

Congrats to Tony McCumbers winner of the 2011 Tourney

Tournament

Harry Sutton (pictured below) of Newton trailed the top catch by 6 oz., won second place and a cash prize.

Tony McCumbers (not picutred) won third place in the
tournament. Seventeen anglers from Roane, Kanawha &
Calhoun counties took part in addition to two folks from a Virginia bass club.
The 2010 Kids Fishing Derby Winners

Not only were 17 bass anglers in the big
tournament, there were 17 kids in the Labor Day Kids' Fishing Derby.
Brenlee McKown (left), Wal-Mart Manager John Lahoda, and Culann (pronounced

after bagging the winning catches in the fishing derby. Brenlee caught 12
fish in 20 minutes and Culann caught 11. Culann tied another boy
Ryan Smith with 11 on the day but lost out on a drawing as indicated in the
rules. Ryan had won the last two years and set a fishing record with
9 fish.
Brenlee is now the record holder with 12 caught. In all 53 fish were
caught in the 40 minute event. Two rounds of fishing were held.
Each angler got to fish for only 20 minutes.

Kids Derby for ages 12 and under begins at
Noon. One boy and one girl wins new bicycles for most fish caught.

As always, dockside concessions are sold after the tournament
and during the kids fishing derby.
Come and enjoy a picnic at the lake. It's been known to be pretty foggy at
check-in.
